Hansmeyerhof
The Hansmeyerhof was built in 1620 and therefore, is one of the oldest farms in the valley. The changes, which took place in the past almost 400 years, show clearly the development of farming from the 30-year war to the second half of the 20th century.Originally the farmhouse was one fiefdom (“Burkhard’s fief”) together with the 117 year younger "Falkenhof" farm. The fiefdom was divided in 1640. The Falkenhof today lies in the Black Forest open-air museum in Gutach.

Many of the relatively rich farmhouses in the region build free-standing living accommodation next to the farm buildings in the early 19th century, just like Falkenhof and Hansmeyerhof. Its grand and massive house originates from 1818. The former living quarters in the farmhouse were then used for other purposes, such as storage or an additional animal stall.
The farmhouse was bought by catholic church association in 1888, and was in operation until the last tenant died in 1997. In the 20th century the working part of the building underwent significant changes. In the 1930s the making of silage animal food became popular and also the Hansmeyerhof built such a storage silo. In 1954 the cattle stalls were modified and extended after an epedimic.

Once the agricultural use for the farm came to an end, the Buchenbach community rented out the farm in order to make a living display of Buchenbach history available to the public. A private collection and a specially-founded society are take care of the interior and organise events.
Restoration work began in 2001. The earlier living area was reconstructed as it had been found, so that it now shows the standard from the 19th century, before the separate living accommodation had been built.
